# Apply a label to a client-site link

> Applies one label to the link between a client and a site. These labels describe the client's relationship to that specific site and are separate from the client's own labels and the site's own labels. The two must already be linked — use `PUT /v1/client/{clientId}/site/{siteId}` first. Idempotent: applying a label the link already carries succeeds and changes nothing. Only public labels can be applied — discover their ids with `GET /v1/labels`. Requires both the `client:write` and `site:write` scopes.
